Good News For Solo Travelers

Azamara has begun to offer reduced single supplements in certain categories on select cruises. At present, these must be found and booked through TAs but they will soon be available on Azamara's website. Most of these are close-in, "fill up the ship" bookings but it is nevertheless a big step away from Celebrity's single-unfriendly pricing. Most upscale lines in general have much better single pricing than do the mass-market lines so Azamara's new pricing is consistent with the practice of the market segment it seeks to be part of.

That is good news but I thought Celebrity did offer good prices on singles. I sailed on a 5 night cruise on Century in January and the rate for 2 was $299 PP, my single was $474 which I thought was a good deal. I booked this on their web site, do they not do this all the time?
