Shops around the pier

What kind of shops are around the pier in Costa Maya? I have been before but can't seem to remember. Are they nice??

There is the usual mixture of "duty free" stores (International Whatever), t-shirt shops, and local people selling for lack of a better word, trinkets. Similar stuff was available in Mahahual as shown in this photo:

 

 

Are they nice? Shopping is way down on my list of things I want to do on a cruise, so I am not really the one to answer this question.
