RetdCruizers Posted May 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2008 My husband and I are treating a young family from Europe to a cruise out of Galveston on Carnival. They have two small children, does anyone have any suggestion for bath-time for the kids, knowing that all of the balcony suites have only a shower? Any tricks or suggestions for us? Does the cruise line have small tubs that will fit into the shower? Thank you for your help...

karenem Posted May 15, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 15, 2008 Haven't tried this on a ship (heck, haven't BEEN on a ship yet) but when taking the little ones to a hotel with no bath, we had good luck with plugging the drain with a towel and packing a large plastic cup for rinsing (i.e., big gulp). The drain doesn't get 100% plugged, but it does allow a few inches to build up in the bottom, which is all you need (caveat: I wouldn't consider this unless it's really clean). Other options: one adult carries kid into shower--soap soap rinse--hands kid to waiting adult. There are also small, inexpensive inflatable kiddie pools available that could fit in the shower. Cruiser from MS Posted May 15, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2008 If I am not mistaken suites have bathtubs. We had a balcony on the Conquest with only a shower and no tub.

DrivesLikeMario Posted May 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2008 Also, bring a big plastic cup for washing their hair, etc. You can throw it away when you pack to come home. ;)

I will look for one of the little pools... Target has an inflatable bathtub that's a duck - about $10 I think. Mine has been on a few cruises - fits perfect in the shower and has a suction cup so it can hang out of the way on the bathroom wall when not in use.
