excursion & time shops close in St Maarten

Leaving to go on the Explorer in June. We are going to St Maarten. What excursion is best to do there? But we only want a short one because we would like to shop there also. And does anyone know what time the shops close? We will be there from 12:00 - 9:00 pm.

I am not sure what time they close, but I want to let you know that if you are there on a Sunday, most of the shops (except the open air market) on the French side are closed. We found this out the hard way.

Can't help you with store times....but, if you are shopping downtown Philipsburg, stop in at Antoine's restaurant and order the Lobster salad... This place has been oceanfront dining in a cozy, small, intimate place for 40 years. Best view and salad is incredible!!!!

 

Also, check out the Passangrahan hotel lobby.. Another gem that's been there forever. Great hotel, great bar!

The shope mostly all close at 6....very few stay open till 7. A store at the pier stays till 7 and they have shirts,liqour, cigars etc.

Are you sailing June 5th??? We are on that cruise and sounds like you will be too!
