Cruise Grana Posted May 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2008 Am I correct in thinking that the only difference in category, VD, VE, VA, etc. is location? Aren't the rooms basically the same? Thanks for your help.
bepsf Posted May 21, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2008 Pretty much, with the exception of certain staterooms that have showers only instead of tubs (at the stern), those that have steel railings (those at the bow on Deck 4), those that have a 4th berth and others that have a door to the adjoining stateroom. Check your deckplans for exact details.
jtl513 Posted May 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2008 Also, the verandah sizes differ. The deck 4 VD and VF have a 7.5 ft deep verandah, the side VA/VB/VC have a 6 ft deep one, and the deck 5 VE and VF have just a 4.5 ft deep one.

I was not aware in 2005 when we sailed on the Zuiderdam and booked a balcony on Deck 5. I was very disappointed in the balcony size, and would have gladly paid more for a larger balcony, had I known.
