Transportation from port at Le Verdon, France

Recommended Posts

Our ship docks all day on a June Monday at Le Verdon, France which is on the coast at the mouth of the Gironde. Our ship offers some excursions into wine country and to the town of Bordeaux further west, but stops only for photos and at one winery. We would like to visit more wineries seeing as we will have all day and enjoy wines a good deal. Wondering if there are taxis at the port or rental cars available or even guided tours. Might one catch a train to Paulliac and rent a car from there? I understand too that, unlike California, most winery visits are by appt only. Tips appreciated.

My cruise has an atypical schedule: it docks at Bordeaux at 10 am on day 1, leaves Bordeaux at 11 am day 2, arrives Le Verdon 4pm, and departs at 9 pm.

The best use of the day(2) is to get off ship day2 before 10:30am, and later on in the day get to Le Verdon before 8:30pm.

How to get from Bordeaux to Le Verdon?

Thanks.
