Best Whale watching in Jan.?

We were on the Carnival Pride the second week of Feb this year, and went whale watching thru the ship in Cabo. There is only one large boat there and I expect all the cruise lines use it. I think it was the Cabo Rey, large catamaran, fairly new, two levels. The trip was great, you only have to go just outside the harbor and there they were. We saw several, which got very close to us, no breaching but lots of tails, full backs and humps. We also saw sting rays, porpoises or dolphins. Trip was not that expensive, maybe $79 or 89 each with open bar and snacks. Rail could get crowded. There were lots of private boats on dock that were taking people out which you could negotiate with. Several nice cruisers were out there with us and one or two small glass bottem boat types, which seemed a little small. Great pictures. I think they start getting there in December.
