Hotels / Motels in Miami?

We will be on the Sky for the 12/8/08 Bahama cruise.

 

We are flying in on Sunday, 12/7.

 

Any lodging recommendations?

Depends on what your looking to spend? Miami can be a very expensive area.. I live about 30 mins from Miami so know the area well.

I too am curious about hotels in Maimi. Has anyone stayed at either the Sofitel or at JW Marriott?

Perhaps you could answer my ? regarding the La Quinta East thread I started. I was told that this was not a good area to go to the West airport. Please give your opinion re safety for parking 11 days... don't plan on walking at night, so not an issue. And is the East, closest to the port (in terms of airport locations?). Thank you
