  1. I suspect the newer ships with much smaller balconies donā€™t really have the space to extend a footrest in front of the chair. Is that what is happening?
  2. https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships/PrincessSuite_eFlyer.pdf according to their website the thermal suite is complementary only on select ships. Not on the Royal.
  3. Exactly!!! I am also not interested in closet-size ā€œsoloā€ cabins on ships that charge through the left nostril for the so-called benefit of avoiding a supplement. I want a decent cabin with a balcony. I also typically book longer trips and usually pay the full solo supplement.
  4. I agree. This apparent denying solo travellers is disconcerting. The travel industry has experienced continued and increasing demand for solo travellers for years. Weā€™re not going away any time soon. Letā€™s hope this is just a glitch in their system and they will resume being open to all travellers without discrimination. If this turns out to be the new normal, my response will be to walk with my wallet to another cruise line.
  5. Thanks for taking us along! Iā€™ll be on this ship in July! Canā€™t wait. Hope you have a fabulous time.
  6. Your story made my heart sing! Such a wonderful gesture and one that you will all remember for a long time to come. Thank you for reporting back to tell us how it went. We need good news stories like this!
  7. I noticed that once I selected my arrival group the QR code is now showing on the app as soon as I open it. I was able to do this once I was less than 60 days away.
  8. Thank you Coral for taking time out of your vacation to provide us with details and photos of your experience. Valuable information that helped in my own planning. Safe journey home!
  9. You are amazing kids! Your parents will be over the moon! On board credit would give them the most flexibility on what they want to spend this extra cash. What ever you decide, they will be pleased beyond belief!
  10. Hi there! Thank you for providing so much information while on your vacation. By any chance have you seen or heard whether the Ultimate Ship Tour is being offered.
  11. Thank you so much for ā€œattemptingā€ a live on this trip! I will be on this same itinerary but not until July, and also as a solo. I will be interested to hear of your experiences. All the best as you set sail on Friday! I will be following along, trying hard not to get too excited for my own trip.
  12. ā€œBoarding Passengers boarding a cruise ship at the Canada Place cruise terminal are encouraged to check travel documents before arriving at the cruise terminal to avoid unnecessary waiting. All passengers embarking in Vancouver will go through screening and U.S. Customs and Border Protection as you are considered to be entering U.S. jurisdiction upon boarding the cruise ship. Please visit the U.S. Customs and Border Protection website for more information and required travel documentsā€ this comes from www.portvancouver.com
  13. True, but I believe you ā€œenterā€ the US as soon as you go through customs before embarking at the cruise terminal, and therefore subject to US rules.
  14. Thatā€™s exactly what I noticed. Not really sure what the point of this exercise of bidding actually achieves, other than a ā€œperceivedā€ deal that leads to spending more. I guess thatā€™s the point!
  15. Interesting! Ok thanks! They sound determined to not drop their prices much.
  16. If you receive an initial email with minimum bids on cabins, and the minimum bid is still really high - has anyone received further emails with lower minimum bid options? Just curious. Thanks!
  17. LOL! I am sure! Thatā€™s the point of my questionā€¦will they accommodate one person for a breakfast so that I donā€™t have to pay for two and end up with an exorbitant amount of food. It sounds like you enjoyed your balcony meals! šŸ˜Š C
  18. Thank you! I knew that there had to be other solo travellers wanting these kind of experiences! The Ultimate Dinner sounds more like a romantic evening meal. I kind of hoped that the breakfast version might be easier to adjust for a solo. Anyone else have experience with this?
  19. Good to know! It means it might be possible. I do worry about the large amount of food. Iā€™m not in a suite but I did splurge on a balcony. I am trying to find a way to have a nice breakfast on my balcony (short of having to trundle down to the buffet and try to bring food back to the cabin). Thanks!
  20. I posted this in the solo forum already and no one had an answer, so it was suggested I try here in the main forum. I am booked on an Alaskan Cruise this summer on Princess. Iā€™m curious if it is possible to get the ultimate balcony breakfast for one? Or does it have to be for 2? Has anyone tried to do this?
