rambler-dhaka Posted May 30, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 30, 2008 I understand that you could not buy a Megatrain ticket online using a non-UK credit card. However there was some talk of this being changed this year and allowing buyers to use US-Canada credit cards as well. Does anyone know what the position is currently? There are substantial savings to be had using Megatrtain and its a pity that non-UK credit card holders cannot avail of this service. Any advice/insights would be much appreciated. milkcow Posted June 6, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 6, 2008 We could not get our US credit cards to work in the ticket machines at Southampton Central or Waterloo, but we had no problems using them at the manned ticket windows, and minimal delay. I assumed a plot by the manned ticket sellers union. We are just returning on the QM2 to New York after eastbound May 10, business in England, QV to Norway (beautiful!), business in Germany, and now home. We stayed at the Novatel Southampton, right across the street from Southampton Central, commuted to London several days, left Cunard store and deliver our heavy formal luggage between ships, and easily walked from the Novatel to the QM2 at the Mayflower Pier---the Queen Elizabeth pier is a longer walk to the Novatel or Southampton Central, but I have done it many times, also. stop David (ohio)
