jc4me Posted May 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Does anyone that has recently taken a taxi from FLL to the cruise port remember the cost? I think we would be much better off by taking a taxi rather than the shuttle, but I wanted to see if anyone had an idea of the cost. Thanks for your help and happy cruising! :)
Demongear Posted May 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2008 I really think that it was no more than 15.00.
jc4me Posted June 1, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted June 1, 2008 I really think that it was no more than 15.00. That's much better than the $25 ppn that the ta wants to charge EACH WAY! We also may want to make a quick stop to pick up some soda and bottled water. We don't drink that much soda, but I don't drink coffee and love having a diet drink first thing in the morning. I am such a bargain shopper and hate paying $2 a can for a softdrink. I appreciate the information...
floridadave Posted June 1, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2008 There are 4 ways to get there: Taxi (metered) about $10 about 15 minutes. Shared ride about $9 per person - could be more than 1/2 hour as you wait for the van to fill up. Cruise line service. I have seen about $25 to wait in a group and get on a bus in a group. Sometimes, if you have rented a car at the airport, the car rental company will bus you over to the cruiseport. Check with car rental company before hand. Walking there the 2 or 3 miles is NOT advised. There are no sidewalks leaving the airport. Florida has a high pedestrian death toll. It is generally NOT a good idea to go there before the time the cruise company has told you to go there. There is very little to do there. IF you are traveling on Southwest airlines, they have a service that, for a fee, will collect your bags AFTER the cruise at the cruise dock and get them onto your plane (Southwest only). Thus, AFTER the cruise if your flight is late in the day you could take a tour of the city or Broward County without worrying about what to do with your bags. Arrangements for this can be made when you ARRIVE at FLL airport BEFORE the cruise. You will find the sign-up for this service opposite bag claim 6 in terminal 1.
