dpal2208 Posted June 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2008 Hi all, I just booked a cruise in October on the Sky and am very excited to be apart of the new "refreshed" look. I just received a new NCL brochure 2008-2009 2nd edition and the SKY isn't even mentioned nor do they mention the short Miami/Bahama cruises. Anyone have any ideas why? Is it going away? Cant wait to hear back. Looking forward to great short cruise. Bon Voyage djp
electricron Posted June 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2008 WHY? The Pride of Aloha (POA) was pulled from Hawaii service, and according to the Apollo buy-in to NCL, if NCLA pulled a ship from Hawaii, the POA was to transfer to Star Cruises. Star put the POA up for sale, in fact, its still up for sale. Nobody wanted to buy the POA for the price Star wanted. Star couldn't use her this year, so NCL is apparently leasing the POA (now the Sky again). That decision was just made in early May, almost a full year after the initial brochures were made. Most NCL brochures are printed in July. That's why there's so little on paper about the Sky. In another month or two, new brochures will become available, and they will include the Sky. Don Haynes Posted June 3, 2008 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Its an annual process. During the spring NCL posts next year's inteneraries, and in July print the brochures. The Pride of Aloha being reverted back to the Sky is recent news. By the end of July new brochures will be available with the Sky. Until then, as far as the deck plans, the Pride of Aloha is sufficient, except for the return of the casino in the former museum, and some of the restaurant's names. newmexicoNita Posted June 3, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Don, I was about to say the same thing, brochures are printed far in advance of the actually date that appears on the outside. Nita
