Insurance Question!

We are looking at Caribbean Princess San Juan 7 day in March- Classic Southern Caribbean and have a couple of questions about insurance.

We are probally going to go with booking our own air as it is 900.00 cheaper that way. If we do and we buy insurance and we have to cancel due to sickness, will we get out airfare back? Or do we need to book the air with Princess to make sure it is covered. And finally, should we go with the air that Princess offers... Why would we? Why should we not?

I am a little stressed as this would be a pretty big trip for us and our parents would be watching the kids, if they get sick we wnat to make sure we could re-book the trip at a later date.

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you purchase your insurance from Princess, Princess travel care, and you purchase your airfare privately, Princess insurance WILL NOT reimburse your airfare if you have to cancel or for any other reason. Princess insurance will only cover the cruise PLUS FLIGHTS if you book both through Princess. You will have to get other insurance to cover the cost of the air. But you might also look at private insurance for the entire trip that covers the cruise plus the air (you combine the total cost of both), it might be less expensive that way for you. A good place to check out insurance is www.insuremytrip.com for different policys, companys and coverage.

As always, Toto has the best advice. The only thing I'd add is that if you purchase your air and have to cancel, check with your airline policy in that you most likely will be able to re-book the air for another time for a $75-$100 change fee per ticket.

That's why you book insurance with a third party like http://www.tripinsurancestore.com/
