Carnival Wedding- Last minute questions

Recommended Posts

We have our wedding coming up in two weeks on Carnival's Inspiration. They just called to confirm our ceremony time will be at 1pm. With 44 guests sailing, I'm just wondering what everyone does for 3 hours considering they will already be dressed for the ceremony? I'm just curious what past cruisers have thought of the down-time? Any suggestions considering that the children wil probably want to go swimming as soon as they board the ship.....thanks in advance!

It won't be nearly as much time as you think. I just attended an embarkation day wedding. There were about 60 guests, 45 of whom sailed. We arrived at the port at 11am and were directed to VIP check in and were processed quickly. However, the ship wasn't ready to board and we were asked to wait in a seperate area with other special "groups". Once they cleared us for boarding we were among the first on the ship -- at about 12:30. The wedding was supposed to be at 1pm, so we hurried to our cabin where we were allowed to drop our luggage. (The cabin wasn't officially ready yet, but they let us drop our bags.) Then we practically ran to the wedding location to get by 1pm. In the end, the wedding was delayed by about 40 minutes since we were so late boarding.

You won't have that much time. They tell you to be there at 10am but you have to go thru check in and customs. We all sat together and didn't get on the ship until 11:45. Then our ceremony was at 1pm but all guests had to be there by 12:45 so they had an hour to walk about the ship and they all went upstairs to the buffet to get something to eat. They also checked out the ship, took pics, etc.
