deposit when booking onboard?

Recommended Posts

We are taking our first cruise vacation next month and already considering a cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary in the summer of 2006. I keep reading about the benefits of booking future cruises while onboard but haven't seen anything about how much of a deposit is required. I would like to know how much to money to have available for a deposit since we don't use credit cards. TIA

It is $500 total, not per person, and I think, not sure, you have two weeks to pay it after you book on the ship. Not certain though, we paid it while on the ship.

Unless thing have changed, I thought the deposit was dependant on the number of nights the cruise you are booking consists of. We booked an 11 night cruise on our last cruise and our deposit was $900... though the cruise we just booked for Jan 2, 2005(6 Night) was $500.
