loverofpepsi Posted October 11, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2004 I was wondering if camp carnival is open during dinner hours? If my kids weren't good I was wondering if they could go to camp while we enjoy our dinner.
pungo3 Posted October 11, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 11, 2004 Nope, Camp Carnival is closed during dinner. Your only option is to feed them earlier on the Lido deck and hire a sitter during dinner.
the_monkey Posted October 11, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2004 Looking at our Capers from our cruise on the Triumph (9/18-27), and they had dinner for the kids with camp from Sunday to Thursday. Our 4 yo DD preferred to eat with her "friends" and have pizza and french fries - 6.5 yo DS preferred eating in the dining room because he *didn't* want pizza and french fries. :D So that covered both "at sea" days (which were both formal nights) and the 3 days we were in port. But really, if your kids can sit through dinner at a standard restaurant (Applebee's, TGIF) then they won't have a problem with sitting through dinner in the dining room. And, like I told DS, it was the only time soon I'd be letting him order lobster for dinner!
loverofpepsi Posted October 11, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted October 11, 2004 Thanks for the info. Hopefully the Conquest will have dinner time activities for the kids.
PlaneJoy Posted October 11, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2004 During our cruise last week, they were closed JUST BEFORE dinner but were open and fed the kids on the Lido deck during dinner. They did this during early seating, so if you have late seating you would have to take them during this time for dinner.
dbcruzin Posted October 11, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2004 How old are the children?
loverofpepsi Posted October 12, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted October 12, 2004 The kids are 3,4,and 9. I know that the 9 yr. old will be fine in the dining room.
nybumpkin Posted October 12, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 12, 2004 On Victory, our 13 year-old DS ate in the dining room every night; 8 year-old DS and 4 year-old DS alternated between dining room and Camp Carnival on the Lido deck. All of them did quite well in the dining room - there is a children's menu available (including chicken nuggets - a food group for 8 year-old DS!) The younger ones enjoyed eating with other kids, though, so we did avail ourselves of Camp Carnival for some meals - although our dining room waiter was very disappointed when the younger ones weren't around! The 8 year-old got up to dance with the staff when invited by our waiter, and had a great time!
