Riverside Las Olas - construction?

I saw on a previous post that the Riverside is due to start construction? Does anyone know when and for how long? We have reservations in Feb. and for the price we are paying I don't want to deal with construction - I would rather find someplace else to stay. Thanks.

I would suggest calling the hotel. I don't see how they could build anything unless the tore the hotel down first and the hotel isn't old at all.

BTW you'll love the location.

OP: I think that you read this on one of my posts. Sorry, but it is true, and this is a major project. They are evicting all of the tenants east of the hotel down to the next corner. Many have already located. They did this a few years ago on the west side of the hotel, where Cheesecake Factory now resides. The plan is to knock down those shops and restaurants and build in their place, creating more rooms, a new pool, and a more appealing entranceway. Construction begins at the end of the summer. Here is an article with the details. Being that it is the only hotel in this great area, you might want to talk to the manager and ask if they can guarantee you a room with a west view, which would be the furthest from the construction. Not all construction projects are noisy, but I so often read on tripadvisor of people who were not advised of construction when they booked hotels, and they were very unhappy.
