Grandeur Drydock?

I am booked on the Grandeur in June and have heard the ship will be in Drydock in October. How much can they do if they have cruises in November. Heard complaints about the sewage smell on the 10 day cruise. We are on deck 2. Made our reservations early and that is what they gave us. We have never been that low on any other cruise. Will that make the sewage smell worse, being lower down. They say it makes for a very smooth ride being low. Anyone else been that low on the ship

The Grandeur goes into drydock October 25th and leaves the shipyard on November 5th. Don't expect anything more than routine maintenance and cosmetic sprucing during those ten days. I can't tell you anything specifically about deck 2, but we've been as low as deck 4 on the Grandeur and never smelled any sewer odor. It is true that you experience less motion on the lower decks so you should feel very little movement on deck 2. Enjoy your cruise!

Hi fay54,

We were on Deck 2 aft last year on the Canada/New England. We booked our reservation w/ a guarantee and that is what we got. Certainly not the upgrade we had hoped for. But we ended up loving it down there way in the back! (We were with 2 other couples). It was very quiet and we felt no motion whatsoever. It was stormy and rocky one night & everyone was complaining but not us! We actually said we would book an aft cabin again! We didn't notice any smell either.

Enjoy your cruise!
