Kurb .. it can't be both ways, it's either a TV show about a weekend getaway.. or its SB wanting a much deserved vaca;)

Finally yeah!!! That is what this format was all about:) A TV series about SB needing a much deserved weekend getaway...........

BTW I never said that everyone should like it. Just trying to point out the different format..........

I liked it a lot, even watched it twice. DW and I went last year on the Inspiration and really enjoyed seeing the ship and some of the renovations. Would have like hearign the horn again as they passed under the bridge.

Personally I enjoy being on the deck with the music, going to casinos, the shows and love the food and snorkeling (usually on a self guided trip). On shore we are at the beach baby!! I stopped going to the late night buffets years ago when the stopped the midnight and the later night (around 2:00 am) and just make a pizza run after the casino closes. And I agree the food photograhers are funny - but haey that's great, you're on vacation do what you enjoy. However, I know friends who prefer quiet times and soaking in local culture.

It looked to me that SB had already seen all the touristy stuff and was looking to find the little corners were it is more peaceful. For that I say great, she shows that you can do either on the ship and on shore. What could be better in reaching a larger audience? And I also enjoyed her her cute humor.

We left on the Sensation last Thursday, so we were not able to watch it until last night. I was concerned after reading all the comments on here. But Cheryl and I both liked it. We have watched SB several times before and like her. We did not have any problems at all with the show - looked like she was on a short Carnival cruise (you know, a WEEKEND sailing!)

DarthGrady - you pegged it. She was in S1 (Owner's Suite I). The balcony was a dead give-away, as well as when she was in the bathroom. They cleverly showed her coming and going from what appeared to be a standard cabin hallway.

We enjoyed it also because we will be sailing on the Inspiration ONE WEEK FROM TODAY, taking up residence for 5 days in S2.

(I like the updated table limit indicators in the casino !!!)

Can't wait!!!

I thought the show was boring and not very interesting, the ship looked dark and outdated. I am taking the Liberty in November and if I had seen this first and not done my research I would of passed on Carnival. Her two specials on RCL were much better and showed so much about the ship this did nothing to get excited about. While viewing this show I kept saying I would never go on that ship, it just did not show the ship in a good light. Seeing the pictures of the liberty I know better. These shows should get people exciting about cruising, it just put me to sleep. Maybe next time they will do something that features the ship and not so much on the host and hopefully they will use a newer ship.

Interestingly enough - a contact I have with Carnival in Miami indicated that she fell asleep watching it too!!!

Perhaps it does not take much to thrill me (that can be a GOOD or BAD thing depending on the situation :D ) though we have sailed on the Inspiration before and loved it, as we will again next week.

I totally agree. I THINK the show was aimed at us (new to Carnival cruisers). Had I not known about this great place (CC)...I would have called an canceled my cruise on the Inspiration and just eaten the $800 "fee" as a tough life lesson. I believe the ship came off that badly.

But, I know most folks here love the Inspiration...so we are still stoked about the trip!

We are also booked on the Destiny in the spring! Cannot wait!

The way I saw it, Carnival seemed to project the "fun" and "friendly" aspects of the experience more and the ship less. No way any line is going to match RCI's "gee-whiz" factor anyway.

I am so glad I am not the only one who felt Sam was forced...I felt bad that I felt that way because I have always enjoyed her other shows...I have to agree that if I had never cruised Carnival, I do not think this would have helped matters (or inspired me to cruise Carnival)....I had been waiting for a good Carnival travel show...this wasn't it...bummer (I will still look at it again, to get glimpses, but I hope she does another one on another ship)

I saw it last night on the Travel Channel and felt the same way. No it wasn't a good showing for Carnival. Her other cruise shows were much much better. Calling "Formal Night"/"Elegant Night" and sitting at the Captain's Table? Who does that? Mary49

I have watched a few of the weekend getaway shows that SB has done. I think they all have the same general tone...Party girl out for a weekend! I like them and also like this side of her...not quite so squeeky clean...more real.

... and nobody gets to tour the kitchen DURING serving hours either... :)

I found it interesting that in over 30 Carnival sailings we have never been extended an offer to dine at the Captain's Table. Granted, we would kindly decline if we were offered - but that's not the point. What I REALLY find interesting is that on our first Celebrity cruise the offer was extended to us on the second evening. We already had reservations in the specialty restaurant (Murano), thus we declined the offer.

She did seem rude and snarky. Her balcony room was obstructed, and people were looking at her from the balconies next to her.. It was funny when she said "well, I wont be out here in my underwear"...... Although that was a snarky statement.

On the Freedom cruise she did, they didnt spend enough time on the ship, and too much on land excursions.... But on this one she did spend plenty of time on the ship, but all she really did was go to an ice carving show, spent time in the casino, and went on a water slide. She was on land once or twice, and didnt do a real big excursion like on her Freedom show...

But the only time she wasnt that snarky was when she was with the kids, and at the midnight Buffet of food sculptures.

All- in - All, I was a little disappointed, because, I am a carnival fan, and i love Sam Brown....

I was on the carnival website, and came across an article, talking about why they chose the inspiration for her and had a small video clip of her best scenes... But I cannot find it now.

I think it would have been nice if they would have shown more about the ship and what it is like, I have been swayed by the Travel Channel cruise shows she has done in the past afterall I have the Freedom of the Seas booked for next year. They highlighted on so many neat and cool things to do and see on the ship that I decided I wanted to see it for myself.

I have also been on the Inspriation before the recent waterworks upgrade, and I loved the ship I plan on sailing on her again in 2009 if I can swing the time. I DVR the cruise shows and burn them to DVD on my DVD recorder. But this one I did not. Not much to sell Carnival to a friend who may want to consider taking a cruise. Just did not impress me, Carnival Commercials make me want to book more than this show did.

Real Bummer.

I agree with you! This show is not just about cruising it is a show about weekend getaways. I really enjoyed the show and wanted to be on this weekend getaway with Samantha!

I personally think that she should have brought, you know, friends.....

It would be hard for me to have a weekend getaway with just yourself and camera men.....

From what I understand it was a relaxing weekend getaway from her hectic busy life. Hence the reason she did not want to go on the excursion with all the people. She wanted to get away on her own.......

If that's the case, why did she have ``camera guys'' photoging her? Do you really thing she was going on a ``relaxing weekend getaway" or another business venture where she was paid to be there and she (yes she) was the star?

If she really wanted to get away from her hectic busy life, she wouldn't have had cameras rolling.

I understand the theory of SB's new travel show. I just think that the entire format of the show is wrong for what the producers want from the show.

Have enjoyed SB's travel shows in the past but this show has turned me off from watching her new venture this year.

Samantha, I hope you are reading your reviews and are listening to what your fans have to say.

Dianne
