richtersl Posted June 16, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2008 Magens Beach and Coki Beach will be the most crowded. All 5 of those ships will have excursions to these beaches. Some less crowded beaches are listed here. All have gotten good reviews here on this forum: Sapphire Beach (great views, great snorkeling). Secret Harbour (great snorkeling, nice views, nice restaurant on premesis) Emerald Beach (poor snorkeling, calm waters, nice little beach). Morningstar Beach (nice beach bar, poor snorkeling) You can also look into go to Water Island. It's a small island just outside of Charlotte Amalie. Lots of good reviews here on Water Island too. Your ship may have an excursion to Water Island. It's deifnitely worth consideringif it is offered.
Darkwolfe Posted June 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2008 While Coki will be crowded, all the extra people will attract some of the little striped fish (don't know the name) that are common there. We did a SNUBA tour there in Jan 07 and it wasn't really bad. Even scared up a turtle about 20 feet down and 100 feet from shore. Coral World is right next door if it interests you. It's an older marine park, but reasonably entertaining. You can feed some small stingrays at an open air tank for example. (The ray are de-barbed)
