We will be going onthe Victory in April 05. I heard that in Nov. she will be going into drydock for 2 weeks. Will she be getting a complete overhaul? Also how is the cd onthis ship. We sailed with John Heald on the Triumphlast year and he was wonderful. Any comments?

Thanks in advance,

Dayna

Anything that has to be fixed, maintained, or repaired below the waterline USUALLY requires a drydocking (ship pulls into a crib, cradle is setup under her, and the water is pumped out). Ships usually use this non-productive time to update interiors also. :)

Every few years ships have to be pulled out of the water for an inspection and bottom painting. Two weeks isn't long enough for a complete overhaul. That can run into several months depending on what needs to be done. They will do a thorough cleaning, and repair/replace what they can't do while the ship is in service like maybe replace carpet, work on the galley, maybe the pools, and so on, whatever needs work.
