Tundra vs Natural Tour

We are on the CruiseTour before Radiance cruise on July 11th – We are scheduled by RCCL to go on the Denali Natural History Tour on 7/9/08. Our cruise docs say we leave on the tour in the morning (4-5 hours) and upon return leave for Talkeetna in the afternoon.

First, I have read the Natural tour is not popular and the Tundra tour is much, much better. Therefore could we go on the Tundra tour instead -- and be back in time to meet the motor coach to Talkeetna that leaves in the afternoon?

We are getting to Delani the afternoon before and have planned a rafting trip that afternoon. Looks like the Tundra tour is a no-go.

Should we are even consider going on the Natural Tour? Thanks

Is the rafting trip the priority?? You could do that the morning of the scheduled NHT. Frankly, no this tour isn't worth much and you are significantly missing a great deal, but if it ends up all that is available to you, then definately go and see what you can. It's a $50 value that certainly you don't want to waste.

But, what time in the afternoon are you arriving?? You may be able to do a shuttle to Toklat/Polychrome, which both are superior for the distance into the park, which is what you want if you can arrange it?
