CaptainChoppers Posted June 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 23, 2008 DH and I will be sailing on the 7/27 NCL Dawn for Bermuda. This will be our fifth cruise with NCL, the 4th on the Dawn. We recently read that during the week of 7/27, Bermuda has a holiday for 2 days that week for a sporting match, and that much of the island tourist attractions and shops are closed during this time. We have already booked an excursion to Horseshoe Bay Beach and were wondering if this will be effected. Thanks for any help!:)
tekmom Posted June 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Most of the shops in Hamilton will be closed, but I believe the shops in the Dockyard will open. The buses and ferries should be running. As for your Horseshoe Bay excursion, you really don't need to pay for an excursion to Horseshoe Bay. The bus is very efficient or you can take a taxi, which we enjoy more, because the drivers are so friendly. We are going the week after you are. Enjoy your trip! bonz15 Posted June 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 23, 2008 Hi there Captian Choppers-come join our roll call on the roll call boards. There are a few of us on the Dawn on the 27th-and seems like a few more are around. We will be having a meet and greet so join us. As for the holiday-yea it stinks-some things will be closed and the ferry and bus schedule will be on a weekend schedule. The beaches will be crowded but it seems like Kings Warf will be fine and the excursions should be ok Bonnie
iheartbda Posted June 24, 2008 #4 Share Posted June 24, 2008 Why don't you think twice about the excursion to Horseshoe Bay? Like tekmom says, you don't need to pay. Even though lunch is included, the whole thing is not worth $69. There's a bus at Dockyard that goes directly to Horseshoe Bay which is only $3-$4.
