Veendam in San Diego today

Does anyone know why the Veendam just pulled into San Diego. Schedule shows it should be on it's way to Tampa (to arrive on 16th) on a trans canal cruise. The port schedule doesn't show it expected arrival. Has something changed??

Veendam went through the Canal on Sunday, so how could it be in San Diego to-day? I see there is a HAL ship on the San Diego web cam, but are you sure it's the Veendam? :confused:

If you use the zoom feature you can see the name and it says Veendam

Hi There,

She is, indeed, the Veendam! She is currently on charter and has just returned from the Hawaiian islands. I would venture to say that that was her first time in Hawaii but I couldn't be 100% sure. To say the least, though, she is on a very unique itinerary.

It is very strange that there are no busses queued up and there is not a soul on deck. Strange itinerary indeed! Panama Canal -Hawaii- San Diego

Thanks Smoky - I did enlarge the photo and see it is the Veendam. Weird itinerary is right! :confused:

The charter was from Vancouver to Hawaii to San Diego. Friends of mine who had wanted to to the coastal on September 26 had it cancelled due to the fact that it was chartered by a company, whose name I did not get, but they do a lot of group business with HAL.

This info was given to my friends in the Bay Area by their TA.
