taffy12 Posted June 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2008 Have you read any of these books? Do you think any of them are worth buying and reading? The Cruise - Stanley Hart Straight Up, No Sippin' - George Stowers Princess Charming - Jane Heller The Cruise - Brian and Amber Westerman Cruising on the Queen Elizabeth 2 - Bernard M. Patton If I Were Not Upon the Sea (Under the Captain's Table) - Joyce Gleeson-Adamidis The Captain's Log - Hans Mateboer Cruise Crazy: The Cruise Addict's Survival Guide - Bob Mick And can anyone recommend any books along this vein? It seems like the only cruise fiction I can find are mysteries or thrillers, something of that sort - not my favorite genre. I'd love to find some good cruise novels as well as more accounts by crewmembers or other interesting memoirs. Currently I have and/or have read: The Captain - Johnny Faevelen (have not yet read) What Time is the Midnight Buffet? - chesterh (have not yet read) Permanent Passenger - Micha Berman (just finished. Amateurish, yes, and a bit dated, but still an interesting read with some tidbits on crewmember life that I'd never known) Caribbean Cruising - Rachel Hawthorne (a teen novel and not every detail holds true to life, but with a ship and familiar ports of call as the main settings, it's an enjoyable read that feeds my excitement for cruising)
