Can someone give me info on Bingo on-board QM2 , where is it held , how often and how much does it cost ?

 

Funnily enough I am sure that the "Big One" will be won on the last night , it always is !

I understand that it is held in the Karaoke Room midway between McDonalds and the new Fish & Chip franchise.

Just ignore the snide remarks - so unnecessary.

 

Bingo is usually held around 1030 or 11 in the Queen's Room and sometimes there is an afternoon session around 2:30. Cards are $10 or you can buy a package for $20. You don't need dabbers but they have them for sale if you want them.

 

Hope you have fun on your trip and good luck at Bingo - I've done quite well the few times I have played!

My wife and I and my sister-in-law played bingo everday during our transatlantic a couple of years back. (None of us play bingo at home.) We had a GREAT time, and the Cunard folks handled the whole thing so beautifully. It was in the Queens Room, I think from 11-12 or so. It's always listed in the daily program. On the final day, my sister-in-law won the grand jackpot (it was a fair amount, though I don't remember how much exactly). Our favorite photo from the voyage was of my sister-in-law's expression when she realized she had won!

 

We were not the only Queens Grill passengers playing bingo, by the way. And for our upcoming transatlantic (in Aug), we already bought daubers (at WalMart). Maybe we'll hold one of those Queens Grill "butlered" parties for all the other QG passengers whom we spot there!

I don't believe it. Next you'll have us believe that people come to dinner in Ivory Dinner Jackets and coloured, ready-tied bow ties taling about cruising the Atlantic on a boat.

I have only been to Bingo once on QE2, and that was just for the closing few minutes to get a front row seat in the Grand Lounge before the passenger talent show started.

 

They had Mr Quinones doing the number calling, I don't know if he regularly does it but he is very hard to understand. You can always look at the screen if you are unsure so it doesn't matter.

 

He is a very nice person and very friendly and chatty but he is apparently half PuertoRican and half German and has a somewhat strange accent.

 

We were chatting on deck with him last month and poor chap was pretty despondent. He has been on QE2 for so many years that he sees it as his home, like many others of the crew.

 

He has no idea what he is going to do in November, so many of them are on tenterhooks just waiting like they are on Death Row.

 

I was nearly in tears myself just hearing what he had to say.

Sorry to hear about Mr Quinones , he sounds like a very nice chap and hopefully he my be accomodated on the new Queen Elizabeth .

NOW AS FOR ALL THE SMART ALEC`S SITTING AT YOUR KEYBOARDS , let me enlighten you all ... Bingo , Yes I did say BINGO !!! makes on average of £ 20, 000 TO £ 30,000 PER WEEK OR INDEED UP TO £ 100,000 PER VOYAGE for the cruiselines . The reason you dont see it disappear on Cunard is that it has been played on their ships for the best part of 85 years and will continue to be played until they find another way of generating that sort of cash for very little effort !

My mom played Bingo a lot during her QE2 WC, she even cleared $1500 on one lucky day.

 

She did comment to me, and I don't know if this was particular to her WC (she did the Millenium one) that in order to win Bingo, when you had one number left, you had to stand up and say, "Yo Ho Ho, one more to go". I'm one of the unfortunates that will never get to travel on the QE2 but I know on the QM2 we never had to do that. Any one else familiar with this?

My friend and I played every bingo aboard our QM2 Carib -- it's a great fun game. The numbers were called clearly by the young members of the entertainment staff. And yes, on the final round of the final day, numbers are called until the jackpot is one. A lady on our jackpot round called Bingo on the jackpot round -- IN ERROR - TWICE.
