Is there a way to access GI near Stanley Park? Or, do I have to take a water bus or water taxi to it.

You can do it by transit, car or by the fun little boats, here is the transit link, I think you will have a great time there.:)

If you have extra time the walk from Stanley Pary to Granville Island is quite nice (if it is sunny!). It would take between 1/2 hour to an hour depending on how fast you walk.

 

Walk along the dowtown beaches and then over either the Burrard Street Bridge or the Granville Street bridge or catch a water taxi.

 

If you do not want to walk transit is easy downtown.
