Star refurbish?

We are booked on the 30 day San Francisco--Sydney in Sept 09--Have heard the Star will be in drydock earlier in the year for a total refurbish--Anyone know exactly what changes if any will be done? Someone posted they will be major-any enlightenment will be greatly appreciated:)

It refers to the enhancements that are on the Crown, Emerald and soon to be Ruby - which is considered "Gem Class".

It's the ship's class description not a description of services onboard.

 

Think of it as a refit where she will be upgraded by adding The Sanctuary and some changes in the Atrium (called the Piazza on those ships) with the addition of the International Cafe and Vines. I first heard the phrase from the Star's first pursar last November when she told me about the Star's upcoming dry dock where the Star would get her "Gem Class" enhancements.
