cab from miami to fort lauderdale

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if it's easy to get a cab at the port of Miami to the Fort Lauderdale airport? We will be arriving early and will be getting a much cheaper airfare to FLL. If it's possible, about how much does it cost? We don't want alot of hassles but we'll be saving over $250.00.

Thanks for your help

There will be plenty of cabs in Miami. The fare to Fort Lauderdale will be about $65.

We have rented from Alamo at Ft.Lauderdale and returned the car at Miami. Also have done the reverse order. Either way there is a shuttle to/from the pier.
If you do not have the time or inclination to rent a car here is a site where you can share a ride with another couple to Miami.Hope this helps. Bon Voyage!

Hi CruizinTrish,

I was curious about the Alamo shuttles from Miami pier to Ft Lauderdale. Does the shuttle come by the pier pretty often? Or do you have to make arrangements beforehand for them to pick you up? I've made a reservation from the Miami airport, but want to make sure I don't need to call them to shuttle me from the pier to the airport.

Plus, what time do you normally make your reservation for? Are they flexible about that? It seems like you can get off the ship anytime between 8am and 11am. Do they care if you're late?

Thanks for your help!

Greetings,
Check with your travel agent, many times you can purchase transfers from the cruise line for around $15 or $20. It might be worth a try. I've done the rental car thing before for one day and it was fine and very easy to do.Good Luck!

Hello lilyhammer
You do not have to call the Alamo shuttle to pick you up at the pier in Miami. It runs every 15 minutes or so and takes you to the Miami Airport. I've never had to wait that long.I normally make my reservations for 10am. I have always been early and it's never been a problem.
Just make sure your reservations are for pick up in Miami and drop off in Ft. Lauderdale. After you drop the car off in Ft. Lauderdale take the shuttle to the airport. Note, there are 2 locations to stand to catch the Alamo shuttle. One goes to the pier and the other to the airport. Hope this helps.
