marial Posted July 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Hello This will be my first HAL cruise, and being that I have experienced the tiny bathrooms on RCCL, NCL and Princess, I am just wondering if the tubs in the outside cabins are actually large enough for an adult to use..All I can picture is walking in and trying to sit in there and having my knees touch my nose.. Any one with any insight would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
cf_chuck Posted July 5, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Hello This will be my first HAL cruise, and being that I have experienced the tiny bathrooms on RCCL, NCL and Princess, I am just wondering if the tubs in the outside cabins are actually large enough for an adult to use..All I can picture is walking in and trying to sit in there and having my knees touch my nose.. Any one with any insight would be greatly appreciated, Thanks! I had an outside (Dolphin Deck) on the Maasdam (a sister) and the tub was about the size of the tub in my home (standard size). I don't know if therre are variations from one cabin to the next.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2008 HAL's bathtubs are standard size. You should not have any problems. Enjoy!!
CowPrincess Posted July 5, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2008 We were in an outside cabin on Ryndam. The tub seemed smaller than at home, but not teeny-tiny. Might have just been my imagination, but .... or it may have been the height of the tub side (much higher than a normal tub).
cruz chic Posted July 5, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 5, 2008 I think the tubs are very tiny. They are ok if you are showering but unless you are 4 feet tall and 80 lbs I think they are very samll:eek: . I'm taking about the tubs in the cheap seats however:D . I would imagine in the upper end cabins they may be bigger.
Atomica Posted July 5, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Here's a photo of one on the Veendam, which will be exactly the same as the Ryndam. The tub is roughly the size of a standard one & serves it's purpose.

solocanadian Posted July 5, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2008 I am 5 ft 5in and I could just sit with my legs staight. They are indeed as long as a normal tub but I find them deeper and a tad narrower. I have long legs but am careful as I step in - it's a long way down. nchank Posted July 5, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 5, 2008 The length and width of the tub seemed normal, but the sides are very tall. My wife could not get in or out of the tub for her shower without help from me. Hank
nchank Posted September 17, 2008 #10 Share Posted September 17, 2008 Getting in or out of the tubs was an effort as well as stepping into them to take a shower, They are very high.
larsenbiz Posted September 20, 2008 #11 Share Posted September 20, 2008 I thought the tub was kind of tiny. I'm only 5'1"! I did enjoy using it. My 6'5" husband didn't even try. Although, that would have been pretty darn funny:eek:!
