Just booked and picked a cabin across from the elevators (less far to walk!!) , now having doubts about potential noise from elevators bells after reading critism (similar room on RC had zero noise ) , anybody have views ??? , not the biggest issue in the world I know !!

Had VA cabin 8071 (I think) on the Oosterdam, it was next to the lift (elevator) we heard no noise from the lift apart from the occasional bell. It didn't bother us in the slightest, we heard nothing at night time, and I am a very light sleeper.

We could also see the lift from our balcony - we thought it was great, and would wave a people as they went up and down - it was a competition between us to see you could get the most people to wave.

We would have no qualms about having a room next to a lift again.

Like you say - less distance to walk.

You'll be fine...we had 5150 last year and that was directly behind the elevators. The only thing we heard was the elevator bell when it stopped on our deck. That wasn't bothersome.
