trays in buffet

Washing trays was an unnecessary expense. Washing utensils is as well. All passengers should be required to use plastic "sporks" and anyone who complains will be sent to their cabin without dinner!:D

Funny, I would almost prefer plastic utensils. It's a buffet for petes sake! Nothing worse than getting a fork with food still stuck on it, but not a spork, I hate those things!

I can't believe this thread is four pages long. That's all I have to say! :p

I can't believe this is still an issue. I haven't been an active poster here for almost a year (decided to check back in) and when I saw the subject line of this thread I laughed for a good 5 minutes. It seems that some topics never will die.

Denny's is always open, too. I had Christmas dessert there once. I just thought you'd like to have an option if this ever happened to you again. :D

you know what, now that I think of it, Denny's was the other option as well as Flying Js convenience station. We choose Furr's cause we thought we would, at least get a choice. Well we did get that. My chicken leg/thigh was not cooked so I let the server behind the counter know I wanted another one, she was not wearing gloves, took the piece of chicken, with her hands, put it back in the pan and gave me another piece. Christmas dinner will never be the same. Add to it, we woke the next morning to snow and ice everywhere. The drive from Amarillo to our, then home, just south of Albuquerque normally takes 5 hours or a little more: this time almost 9.

thank God we now live just 5 hours north of the Dallas area.

Now, back to the trays..LOL

They die, but like cats, they have 9 lives:

Trays, smoking, tipping, dress code (not as much anymore), crowded pool area, waiting for seating at dinner and a couple others.

Trays or no trays, doesn't make a bit of difference to me, I try to avoid the buffet - any buffet, any where, land or sea, at all costs. I just don't enjoy the crowds running this way and that, bumping into me, etc. I also feel that buffets in general are much less sanitary than other dining options. All those people handling all that stuff, plus I've even seen people drop food, and then pick it up and put it back!

Options are the true beauty of cruising. For those that love the buffet, It's there for you. For those that don't, there is a dining room that will serve you, or room service to choose from! For me, I prefer the calm, quiet, pleasant atmosphere of a dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

NO trays just gives more excercise going back to the buffet :) . Really I never thought it was a problem w/out a tray. The flow of the buffet room is better w/out people with trays or so it seems. You will end up making more trips back and forth. Guess its whatever you are used to. Trays remind me to much of being back in school. I like some prefer to pass on the buffet most times.

you are all making excuses and justifying the cruise line treating you like 2nd class citizens--they want to sell you a concept of a first class vacation--but cant deliver on the service--the casino buffets on land all have staff serving drinks--at least they do at Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods and Atlantic City.

Tell me why you should have to be treated like this and think about finding a seat, having someone get drinks while someone else gets food--you are all compensating the cruise line for their decision making--by the way it doesnt ruin my cruise but in making future choices i am considering this as I eat 2 meals a day at the buffet.

Wow, you're accusing Princess of making you feel like a second class citizen? How mean of them.
