Is this true ... does anyone have any recent reviews for ALaska cruise on Statendam (HAL) .... I ahve read such good reviews of HAL but am worried now about travelling on Statendam.

May I suggest that before you post an alarming statement you give us readers a point of reference? Since your statement is referring to a HAL ship, perhaps the review is posted on the HAL board and not the Alaska port board. Hence, we know nothing of what you are talking about.

LOL - I even Googled "Statendam - "The cruise from Hell"" and the only thing that came up is this thread - that tells me all I need to know (particularly having sailed on the Amsterdam last year).

That is what on eperson referred to the Statendam (in March) and so I wanted some confirmation (check the HAL forum)

 

I have since been told that there are no problems on the Statendam.

 

I myself am booked on the Statendam for July-August 2008 and am very much looking forward to it - and I will post a review for the Statendam once I get back.
