EXTRA Hotel Discount at 60

I try to spread the word about this one every once in a while...

Choice Hotels has TWO levels of Senior Discount. If you book online, you get the 50+ Rate (10% off). This may be the rate offered if you call by phone for reservations and aren't aware of the cheaper rate, too. If you are 60 or over, there is a 60+ Rate (20-30% discount). To get this rate, you need to call the 800# and request it. I usually book the room online, then followup with the call and have the rate changed.

There is also an AARP discount at 15%.

Usually I save another $5 - $20 over the 50+ rate. On Extremely Rare occasion, this rate is not available or is the same as the 50+rate. (Sort of like airlines running out of cheap seats.)

Choice Hotels include Comfort Inn, Comfort Suite, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Cambria Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban, EconoLodge, and Rodeway Inn.

Most include breakfast, many include Micro/Fridge.

It is rare that I find another hotel or discount that has as good a deal as the 60+rate at a Choice Hotel.

Happy Travels!

Thanks for posting that information. I've saved alot of money with the over 60 rate too. I usually stay at Comfort or Clarion and am glad they offer such a great discount for older travelers.

I never used Priceline because of the 'blindness' of what hotel and location was being considered. I think they have changed their setup so that you can see the prices and which hotels are available at that price. I'll have to look at them again.

Choice Hotels, as well as other chains, has a lowest Internet price guarantee. Choice will give you 10% off a lower price. Others (Ramada, Days Inn, etc.) will give you a night for FREE if you find a lower price. Prices from auction sites aren't allowed. I've used Sidestep to find lower prices. Stayed at a hotel for free 2-3 times by finding the lower price elsewhere. One time it was only $.01 less!

Priceline usually list a few hotel s they can get for you if your willing to

pay their price..they re listed in star categories..and it s usually one of

them that ll take your bid..

looking, usually the farther out you look the higher the bidding will be..but, if your bidding within a couple of month s it s usually less..
