Amtrak to Newark - which station?

I am leaving on the Constellation from Bayonne and am planning to take the Amtrak train from Washington, DC to Newark. Does anyone know which is the better station to get off at, the Newark station or the Newark airport station, to then catch a cab to Port Liberty. Thanks.

You want to get off at the regular Newark Station. It is closer to the port and there will be cabs there.

Newark Airport station is in the middle of nowhere by the airport. You would have to switch to the monorail to go to a terminal, and then go all the way downstairs with your luggage to find a cab.

You're welcome. Just be sure that you can manage your luggage. I'm not sure about the availability of assistance in Newark Station.

I travel through Newark Penn Station Regularly. Porters are not as readily available as they are at New York Penn Station. The tracks at Newark Penn are elevated and you have to descend stairs, escalators or elevators to street level to get to the taxi stand. There are taxi's readily available outside the main entrance.
