Room Above the Casino on Destiny

I tried to find the "Don't book these rooms thread" but search is down again. :(

 

I have a room booked on the Upper deck, just above the casino on Destiny. Will it be noisy? What was your experience?

Well if you are already booked, then maybe no need to worry either way.

 

I don't have any first hand experience about your ship or room locale. I would say though, that 'above' is alot better than below. And while the casino will often be open until the wee hours, it is generally not loud like a disco club, or worse a food-prep area.

 

I think at worst, you might be able to hear an occasional muffled yell from the craps table - if the dice are are hot. I doubt you would be able to hear the dinging of all the slot machines.

 

Bring a small fan or other white noise maker, just in case. Good for trying to sleep anywhere but your own bed. No matter the room, a ship sailing at night will always have a few odd sounds and creaks. Ahh, the motion of the ocean.

Thanks for the reply dna :) I do bring a white noise machine, can't sleep without it...and I'd think you are right about being above rather than below. :)

We had the rooms aft of you during Destiny's first year of sailing. They are over the Disco. The only thing we could hear, if that is what you call it, was from the bass. It was more of a feel than a hear. Otherwise, nothing.

On my first cruise we were directly below the casino on the Miracle. It's a different ship but probably a similar idea. We never heard anything.

I really like the room location, close to the elevators, midship. I've alway been in between cabins before, so was a little concerned about the noise factor. I'm feeling better about it already. :)
