Shogun Live From The Emerald

Shogun

Hmmmm....a female CD. I've only encountered three in my entire cruising lifetime and only one on Princess.

She was James Lay's sidekick.

Susan Rawlings is on the Island.

Sammy ??? is still around somewhere too I think.

Don't know of any others.

Sammi Baker; was usually on the Pacific. Haven't heard anything about her lately. I love her!

The other two I encountered were on Royal Caribbean (wasn't impressed) and on the old Royal Cruise Line (Royal Odyssey). She was great. No youngster and was planning to retire to Greece.

Hi Folks,

Need to be short so here goes,

Good mix of folk on ship,

Not seen any of those electric cart things,

Not many teeens if there are about they are in hidding.

Weather great.

Rome did ships on your own with upgrade to include open top bus.

This is how it worked.

Bus to St Peters do your own thing for a hour or to,

Open top tour bus to Trivi sorry about speling

Hour or two for lunch

Open top bus to Collisum do your own thing, bus back to St Peters , tour bus back to ship.

This worked very well, nice to know you had a

Princess rep floating about etc.

Shogun, I am quite new here and I'm not sure if we've spoken before ............but I am oh so jealous! :p

I am fresh off the Emerald on Friday 11th, and could just gladly do it all again if I had the chance. Really enjoyed it. This was my first cruise with Princess and I was very impressed.

One problem though.............I am home without 2 of my cases ( I suppose one out of three ain't bad, but would really like my dirty washing back)!

We flew Titan from Manchester and found them to be first class and the little touches of hot cloths before and after eating, proper cutlery and real glasses, and small bottle of red or white with meal really makes all the difference.

We flew into Venice and back from Barcelona. When we landed in Venice it was early morning 9am and we were at the port about 10.30 I think it was. They made us sit in a great big lounge area and wouldn't let us start checking in until noon. We were shattered after being up at 2am for our early flight so it was a tough day as we then had to 'do Venice' as we were sailing away the next morning. To top it all they charged us $15 dollars each for a water bus (charged to our onboard account) from our port into Venice!

Hope you enjoy your cruise, wish it was me again!

Oh, and give me a shout if you happen to see my cases kicking around. :)

Hi ayr265

We did the same trip last September - Venic then back to Barcelona. We flew back to Manchester and also lost our 2 cases. We found out next day that they had gone to Warsaw, Poland and eventually delivered back home to our home address 2 days later, as you say full of dirty washing. It was worrying but we got them back. Hope you get yours back soon.

By the way we weren't worried about our clothes but our photos!

Hi Folks,

Not sure if its because we have not been to the dinning room, or be we were unable to do the cheif's table, but we got a free basket of fruit, the next day prawns, chocolate strawberry's, then more fruit, all come with little cards from the matre a de.

Naples took private tour, great along the coast, loads of stops, lunch in a place not even on the map, then pompi to finish, very good guide, did not book the tour we were making up the numbers so can not give you details.

CC neeting to day PSD and CD where there around 20 came along. Also had a chance to talk for a only a few ninutes with the Commodre, very nice bloke hope to talk nore to him some time.

Found out today 14,000 smoke detectors on the ship, now thats a lot.

Seas were a little rough no problem for myself but a few green looking folk about, weather still hot and sunny.

Tonight formal, will not go, Curry in Cafe Carbi tonight so I think room service.

Hi Folks,

Me again, internet is empty for the first time,

The ship has a small x ray machine, yip on of the CC group fell in Pompi and did their anckle in.

Coffee seems weaker than in the past. Soda card has gone up its $51 so will just need to drink more to get my money back.

Casino has been very bad, not a thing until today when I won back a few hundred, one lucky person hit the jackot pot, just have to have another go.

Long ques of folks getting their photos taken.

Two weddings today look nice.

Hi Folks,

Waiting to tender so thought would drop you a note,

have been some complaints about room service, so just for you I thought I would try room service last night,

well, phone was answered within two rings, order taken, no problems, delivered within 10 to 15 minutes, no mistakes what we ordered we got, cold stuff was still chilled, hot stuff still had steam coming off it,

so Shogun's report is room service is first class.

My word, you were up bright and early this morning!!! Just been on the webcam and Mykonos looks beautiful. Are you tendering into the main town?

Hope yopu had a super day. Last year it was too rough even to get into Mykonos so we are really looking forward to it on the 23 July cruise.

Have you managed to say 'hello' to Martin the Asst. CD yet? from Daphne and Arthur. Is he still on there for our cruise?

Really enjoying you daily posts - keep them up. Weather not good today in South of England (typical summer day, cloudy and just started to rain). Must start the packing.

Regards,

Daphne and Arthur
