Torshavn Tours

Has anyone found a private tour company in Torshavn that they have used and could recommed. I've tried a couple of leads and nothing yet.

 

Also any recommendations on doing the port on one's own would also be helpful.

The centre of Torshavn is small enough to walk around - they provide a map, and there is a Faroese Museum of History. The central bus station is near the harbour with four routes that operate every half-hour and reach most areas of the town. They will also post brochures if you request them. Shopping is tax-free for visitors.

I agree the town is easy enough to do on your own, but I have heard from friends you must get out town. They took a shore excursion that included a scenic drive. They said is was not be missed.

Has anyone done the Torshavn shore excursion on the Faroe ponies (small, like the Icelandic ponies)? It is offered by HAL and sounds like fun!

 

Would love to hear about it from someone who has participated in this excursion.
