CocoKai Posted July 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Just curious....we were on the NCL Pearl, departing Seattle on 7/6. We pulled out with the Westerdam but then the Westerdam looked liked it turned into Port Angeles. Anyone on the ship and know why it made the diversion? lka1012 Posted July 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Someone posted that the Westie had to pull in to Port Angeles for a Medical Evac. The post is probably a few pages back.
CocoKai Posted July 15, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 15, 2008 Thanks. I couldn't find the thread but assumed it was something like that. Not a good way to start the vacation. Hope the person is recovering and can get to Alaska again.
Westie1 Posted July 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2008 My neighbors were on that cruise and said a kid slammed his arm in a door and broke it and was removed from the ship near Port Angeles.
cruisepal48 Posted July 16, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2008 Yes, I was the one who posted the thread about the Westerdam coming in the harbor of Port Angeles. I saw it from my back yard. Nothing in the paper the next day so I called them and the coast guard and the CG told me that a gentleman was taken off the ship taken to the hospital then airlifted to Seattle. So, I don't think a broken arm would have been airlifted. A few days later the paper did have a short article that a passenger with medical issues was taken off the ship after it pulled into the harbor. They said it was transported ashore on an Arrow Launch boat. I sure wish someone from that sailing would post:confused:
