Do you need the actual coupon or can you just use the code?

Unfortunately I was just told that we need to mail the actual coupon to our TA. RCCL wanted the physical coupon.

If your TA will do it, they can contact RCI with the code and you will get the discount. I just did it. You do, however have to go thru your TA, RCI will not even answer you questions.

DMORRIS, that is usually the norm, but I never received my C&A magazine. I requested it from C&A and they said it would take 6-8 wks. Then, I found out that the coupon for my cruise expired on 3/31. I emailed RCI and asked them if I could get the discount without the coupon. They replied that I had to go thru my TA with this question. I did. I asked her to submit to RCI (we had the code). She did and I got the discount.

 

I am very happy with how this worked out. I don't know if all TA's would do this.

Under normal curcumstances you need to send in the actual coupon. You have to keep in mind that each coupon is good for multiple sailings and I don't think they want a particular coupon used more than once. By forcing you to send in the coupon it cannot be reused.

My TA cruisequick.com only needs the code, not the actual coupon. Perhaps it differs by TA?
