Ship sold out

We are traveling on the Serenade of the sea on April 17th and have been told the ship is sold out (school vac week). Would like to upgrade from a D cabin to a suite at the pier, My question is do they hold rooms open for upgrades or should i assume the ship is sold out.

The ship is probably really sold out. We've always cruised in the summer and each time there has been a sign at the pursor's desk that says "Ship full - no cabins available".

 

I think they do that to minimize the number of people asking them about cabin changes/upgrades when there aren't any available.

Only one large oceanview cabin available for your sailing at the moment. NO SUITES.
