Member Posted July 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2008 I try to purchase my Sept.4, 11:21 one-way ticket online for 123,00 euro 1st class or 29,00 discounted 2nd class at http://www.bahn.de. For a 3 hrs.+ ride, I think I'll take the lower fare one. Any spacious luggage storage for the 2nd class? At http://www.vbbonline.de/start.php?id_language=2, the same ride shows "8 min. walking time" at the end. What does it mean? Thanks for the insight on this in advance. Any spacious luggage storage for the 2nd class? 1st train Kiel - Hamburg is a regional express train: rack above of seats or special compartments for bikes and wheelchairs 2nd train Hamburg - Berlin in ICE: rack above of seats or space between back to back seats At http://www.vbbonline.de/start.php?id_language=2, the same ride shows "8 min. walking time" at the end. What does it mean? Thanks for the insight on this in advance. You have to walk 8 minutes from the stop to the destination or whatever. Member Posted July 20, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted July 20, 2008 I find the Intercity train is usually more pricey than the Regional train. Is it a better ride (newer train, faster, less stops, bigger seat and/or better equipped)?

Your train is ICE 3 newest generation while IC trains are outdated. On which section do you want to use IC??? If you book 29.00 EUR it's fixed to one connection. My concern is where to place our two full-size luggages and two hand luggages in the 2nd class trains. Well, hope our seat area is not fully packed with messengers then.
