is there a Kayak tour to St. Lazaria Island?

Sitka is supposed to be the place to see Puffins. It is weird but I do not get sea sick in a Kayak but I do rocking back and forth in a boat. I am hoping there is a Kayak tour to the island so we can see Puffins. Anyone done the Kayak in Sitak?

St Lazaria is a long distance from the actual port of Sitka (too far to reach by kayak in a short excursion). We did see a few puffins from the cruise ship on our way in and out of this port, as well as on our way in and out of Seward and Valdez and near the Marjorie Glacier in Glacier Bay.

A boat trip to St Lazaria is a real highlight for anyone interested in birds and wildlife, and probably is a slightly easier and calmer option than a visit to Kenai Fjords by small boat.

We hired Captain Rich in Sitka for our trip to St Lazaria, and he was excellent. He is an avid kayaker as well, so you might want to contact him (forst@gci.net) to see if he has any suggestions.
