American money works just fine since it's on par with the Bermuda dollar. The will usually give you American money in change but not always. If they do give Bermuds money as change, try to use it up before you leave. We've even had a merchant accept an American check.

no change the Bermudian dollar is tied to the US one and has a one to one exchange...
