Alarm clocks on the Dawn

I believe that i read in a post that the rooms on the Dawn do NOT have alarm clocks. Can someone please verify?? Thank you.

Most ships don't have alarm clocks. You can always get a wake call or ask for room service the night before and they'll wake you up with a nice cup of coffee and bite to eat!;)

We had an AD on the Dawn recently and we had a clock in our suite but don't know if it would work as an alarm clock. DH and I are early risers (up with the sun) so never have a need for a wake-up.

If you order breakfast from room service the night before, they will call you and let you know it's on the way so that can serve as your wake-up call:) .

I was in a BA last fall and no clock. In fact I've never had a clock on a cruise. We got a battery operated fold-up alarm clock that we take with us. I don't remember what it cost but it was pretty cheap. It folds to about the size of my wallet so it doesn't take much room. That would be my wallet AFTER leaving the casino...pretty small!

Thank you all for your information. We had an alarm clock on The Explorer of the Seas and we used it often, so I was concerned about not having on but as long as we can set a wake up call we are all set!! Thanks again.

Best thing is to rely on a wakeup call via the phone/room service.

Either option will always be on ship's time (and hopefully be accurate :o).

This may not affect some cruises, but you can imagine if you changed time zones a couple of times during the trip (or a lot ... think transatlantic). On a transatlantic, every night during the long stretch, you'd have to adjust the clock. Even on a cruise with one time zone change, setting the clock (or forgetting) cause someone to be off schedule.

I too have never had a clock on a cruise. We always bring a small battery operated one (ship electricity is not a reliable 60 Hertz, so plug-in clocks will run either fast or slow).

Get one that has an illumination button so you can hit it to see the time when it's dark.
