I am sure someone knows a perfect place to eat lobster in Bar Harbor. Would you know of such a place and is there a particularly good view beside perfectly prepared lobster? Thank you for sharing your experience.

IMHO, you will get a good lobster dinner in most of the popular resturants in Bar Harbor, BUT I’ve only eaten lobster at the West Street Café. Now, not only do you want a good lobster dinner but also you want one that has a scenic harbor view.

So here are 4 with views. I believe there are 3 more; my 4 were the easiest to find, and closest to the town dock.

Bar Harbor Inn http://www.barharborinn.com/dining.html by far the most elegant (and I would assume the most expensive). A very short walk from the town dock. Turn left when leaving the dock.

Quarter Deck Restaurant http://www.quarterdeckbarharbor.com/ casual dining at the corner of Main and West Sts. Diangonally across the street from the town dock.

FISH HOUSE GRILL http://fishhouse-grill.com/ at the town dock

Stewmans Lobsters http://www.stewmanslobsterpound.com/ (at the Bar Harbor location) turn right after leaving the town dock; it will be the next building on the right that you come to on West St

Here’s my suggestion: Go to the lobster shack on West St (left hand side) just past Stewmans Lobsters (which will be on your right) and buy lobster rolls. Then walk back to the little park opposite the town dock. Walk up the hill; find a place to sit on the grass and have a picnic. Again, IMHO, there is no better view of the harbor then what you’ll have sitting there and you can’t beat the price.:D

Just came back from Bar Harbor and we ate at the West St. Cafe. I highly recommend the restaurant for lobster. We had the special..........clam chowder(best ever), lobster, fries, cole slaw, and amazing homemade blueberry pie. Go for it!

They have some tables outside.

Thank you SailBadtheSinner and oceanlov1 for sharing your experiences.

After gathering some more information on the net, I concluded that any of your suggestions could fit my wishes. Therefore I will decide when I am there, giving a slight advantage to Stewmans. It really helps to know where to start the search.
