CENIA Posted July 23, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2008 I am taking my son on a cruise on the Carnival Ecstacy and I want to know. My son will be short 2 months on turning 18.:D I want to know will he be able to hang out with me at the clubs and bars if he doesn't drink? I figure it'll give him something to do if he doesn't want to do the teen thing.:p
Rare silentbob007 Posted July 23, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2008 He can go into any of the bars except the dance club which is 18 and above only during the late evening hours (and yes ... they do card).

Cruisin' Chick Posted July 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2008 Any place that has a 21 age requirement (which would require any bars and casinos that require this) will not allow anyone in unless they are already 21. Your son's card will be imprinted as a minor (yes, on ships, 20 is considered a minor).
eandj Posted July 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2008 My guess he won't WANT to be in any "club" at his age. He"ll meet people his age at the pool or casual dining areas. The teen clubs usually attract younger teens. So yes, take him into the adult areas with you when he's interested. No alcohol tho.
hightownCO Posted July 23, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 23, 2008 On one of our cruises - and don't remember if it was Carnival or Princess, it was pointed out that my daughter could not sit at the bar with me but sitting at the tables was fine. CENIA Posted July 24, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted July 24, 2008 Well this is just my back up plan just in case he doesn't meet anyone his age. I really don't want him to be bored. Thanks guys for the responses:D
DukeFamily Posted July 24, 2008 #8 Share Posted July 24, 2008 The only place I can think of he can't go with you would be Stripes disco - but YOU probably won't want to be there either when it is 18 & up. I think that happens at 10:30(?). They'll play 70's & 80's till 11:00 then switch to current dance music. Right next door, though, is Chinatown which is a lot of fun, and if BlackJack is still the house band, they are really good! Obviously, he can't go into the casino with you. The kids could sit at the bar with me though, but only with me - they aren't allowed to sit AT the bar alone.
