I'm sure this has been addressed already, and I have tried the search to no avail. Anyway, what is the reccommened time for arriving at the pier:confused: . Will be coming from the Sheraton downtown.

If it matters or not, we are staying in a suite (not a mini-suite)

Thanks in advance.

All I can tell you is, do not arrive around noon. There were hundreds and hundreds of people all standing in one line that snaked back and forth. You have to stand in 4 lines to embark....(1) place luggage on x-ray machine, (2) place carry-on on x-ray machine and passport check, (3) check-in and pictures and (4) get on the ship. Total process took 1.5 hours. I needed more than one small glass of champage after that!!!!

We went back out on the street later....2:30 or so....and there was barely anyone in line.

We went onboard around 2pm. There was no line. No waiting to have your pictures taken, no lines to get your Credit cards processed. Best time ever getting onboard. Don't fight the noon lines. Not woth it, even if you are in a suite.:)

My recommendation is to arrive about 11:00. And make sure you look for the "VIP Suite" check-in line. We got there a little bit later (maybe 11:30) and didn't even have time to enjoy the VIP lounge. As soon as we got all checked in and pictures taken for the onboard cards, our butler escorted us to our Owner's Suite!

Have a wonderful cruise and enjoy the Pearl and your suite!:D

Thanks everyone, for your suggestions :)

brunolvr.....

How was it cruising at the foward of the ship? DW & I are on deck 10 directly under the bridge.

Hi, crimmper! You must be in an AC? We found it to be quite windy on our front deck--really it was not usable when we were cruising along at 20+ knots. As we got closer to the different ports, however, and slowed down, it was quite nice out there. However our side deck was much less windy.

We were in Owner's Suite 9004 and this was the first time we've had a cabin on the front of the ship and found we felt the movement of the ship quite a bit. The one night we had really rough seas, it was almost impossible to walk from the bed to the bathroom!

But the views in Glacier Bay were fabulous! And take advantage of breakfast and lunch in Cagney's! Most enjoyable!

Sandy is right. We arrived at 11:00 also, parked our car, went to the VIP section and my DW and I were on the boat around 11:30.

Enjoy we were in 9002 and loved every minute especially Glacier Bay. It was magnificent.

I love a good roller coaster ride :D

Is it possible to order breakfast from Cagney's and have it in the suite.

DW celebrating the big 5-OH on Monday.

Which suites qualify for the VIP Suite line? Does an AB Penthouse qualify?

Is this a different line than than the Latitudes?

I would have to think so If I'm in an AC and your in an AB.

We were arrived at the pier around 9:00 am and checked our luggage with the concierge at the pier ($3.00 per bag) then walked to the Pike's Place Market for a while before boarding. We got back to the ship around 11:00 and retrieved our luggage. Once we checked out bags into the x-ray area, we walked to the embarkation area where we were met by a gentleman who was taking all suite passengers to the VIP lounge (We were in an AB Penthouse). Since the ship was late with passengers debarking, embarkation started a little late. We were in the VIP lounge for about 15 minutes when they called for boarding. The butlers showed the first group to their rooms then came back to get our group. The whole process took us about 30 minutes total.

Once on board, we asked the butler if Cagney's was open, which he said it wasn't. But we went upstairs to Cagney's anyway and had a wonderful lunch.

Since you are in a suite, your embarkation should go farily quickly. Enjoy your cruise. The suite life will spoil you!!!

AE and above qualify for VIP Suite embarkation (not mini-suites, though). So, yes with an AB you are a VIP!:D

We've never really noticed a Latitudes check-in at the Seattle pier.

I'm not sure about ordering breakfast from Cagney's for in the suite dining. It may depend on your butler and I know ours was quite over worked but she still did a good job. Our suite breakfast menu was quite good and once we did write in "eggs benedict" which weren't on the menu and we got them. Also wrote in "apple juice" and cranberry juice" and got them.

Seattle embarkation was the easiest we have EVER been through. We have always left from Miami. The Seattle terminal rushed us through so fast, I didn't even have a chance to declare my wine and pay my $15.00 corkage fee, which was in my carry-on. I hadn't realized it until partner said "they didn't even check". Not sure that's a good thing.

We are a group of four, DW, my parents and myself, and we have a adjoining AB/AF. I know the AB qualifies and the AF does not (barely) but I am hopeful they will not split up our group at embarkation.

It has been my experience that with a small group the concierge treats everyone in the group the same. We did this sort of thing once before, with an owner's suite and an inside cabin on Majesty. The concierge treated us in the inside cabin like royalty since we were with the suite.

I did the Pearl in June and was booked in the closet. Needless to say no VIP. LOL

Got there at 11:00, with in 30 minutes was on the ship. Everything was set up so well, I was almost in shock.

So get there early (11:00) or get there later (after 2:00) Just avoid the rush hour of noon.
