Pasta on Princess

I am going on the Coral Princess on Dec. 10. I love pasta. Does Princess ever serve it with tomato sauces or is it just cream sauces?

Pasta is served with many different sauces on different days and a tomato-based sauce is always available (It's on the kids menu), a few cruises ago our Head Waiter on the Dawn Princess made a fresh tomato based sauce with capers, garlic & basil, it was delicious, in fact so good that my 6yo son who would not anything but butter or olive oil on his pasta, had the special sauce on it for a starter at many meals. I got the recipe, it's great!

Here it is,

Jose’s Fresh Tomato Pasta Sauce

 

 

Ingredients:

 

 

10 Roma (Plum) Tomatoes (Cut into 8’s)

 

Olive Oil

 

Salt & Pepper to taste

 

2 Tbls. Sugar

 

4 Cloves Garlic (Thinly Sliced)

 

3 Tbls. Capers (Drained)

 

20 Basil Leaves (Torn)

 

1 lb Dry Pasta

 

 

In a skillet on med/high heat, add 4 Tbls Olive oil & Tomatoes, stir occasionally. After 3 or 4 minutes add garlic. Cook pasta (2 minutes less than alDente) & drain. When tomatoes soften about 7-10 minutes, crush with a fork until tomatoes are in pieces less than 3/8”. Add capers, stir. Add pasta, toss. Add 2 to 4 Tbls Olive oil and the basil, toss again and serve. You can also add 10oz of sliced mushrooms when you add garlic.

 

 

Serves 6 people

Thanks... Sounds like MY marinara, with capers added... too easy!!!!!

As has been mentioned in other threads,the children's menu always has a marinara sauce if all the other choices on the main menus are cream-based sauces.

 

Also,if you ask your head waiter,he'll have anything prepared for you beforehand,just ask!

I always order the spaghetti off the kids menu, if there is nothing I like on the reg menu!!

And believe me it is very very good!! A big portion so you should get your Tum Tum full!!
