Azuka Posted July 28, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2008 I am sure this has been asked before but have not been able to find it. Does American Airline offer Express Luggage from San Juan. We have a fight booked that does not leave until 6:45 PM. I would rather not have to carry our luggage around until the flight leaves. Would much Rather spend the time doing some sight seeing before the flight leaves. Thanks in Advance., Al
Ocean Boy Posted July 28, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2008 Yes, American Airlines is part of the program and it is a great service. You drop off your luggage with them after you leave customs and you don't see it again until you arrive at your home airport. You also get your boarding passes while you are on the ship so you don't have to check in at the airport either. You go straight to security and then to the gate when you arrive there. If you decide for some reason that you don't want to use the service you can also leave your luggage at a restaurant in Old San Juan called the Barrachina. They will store it free of charge (just leave a tip) and you can pick it up when you are ready to leave for the airport.
bplazo Posted July 28, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2008 We had the same problem with a flight out of San Juan. It was so nice to use this serivce and not have to worry about what to do with the luggage. It was also nice to bypass the lines at the airport. pumkinsmom Posted July 28, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 28, 2008 It is not a for sure thing that you will be able to use them. You will fill out your paperwork and turn it in, then wait for a day to see if you are accepted. We travel on AA to SJU and on a late flight last year the other couple we were with had a 7:30 pm flight, and were not accepted. They were told the flight was too late to use the program. We also had a 2:30 flight on another cruise, and got denied once. You just never know. It is well worth it though when you can use it.

seagoer55 Posted July 28, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 28, 2008 FYI....there is a $20 service charge per person to check in at the pier. Actually this is charged to your onboard seapass account...you fill out all of your paper work onboard the ship..you can only check in 2 bags per person too...
